Upgrade Xperia X10 Mini to GingerBread (2.3.7)

This is quick setup how to setup your xperia mini with gingerbread.
warning:

DO IT WITH YOUR OWN RISK


1. Make sure your firmware is the latest from sony,
2.1.1.A.0.6 SE firmware
Baseband:
M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015

if not, you can install pc companion from sony official website:
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/software/phones/xperia-mini/
update to the latest firmware.

2. preparing the tools, you will need this:
SuperOneClickv1.5.3-ShortFuse
get this from http://www.mediafire.com/?7ytrvpiwi8i44mk

RootExplorer
get it from http://wwww.blapkmarket.com/

xrecovery
get this from http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/QRPSMT2O/xRecovery-mini-0.1-beta-with_boot_fix.rar_links
get this from http://depositfiles.com/files/n1ocszdv8

MiniCM7Pro_V21.zip
get this from http://hotfile.com/dl/134321296/2ebad42/MiniCM7Pro_V21.zip.html

3. First we need to root xperia x10 mini, using superoneclick tool.
*.enable usb debugging at your phone,
*.setting->application->developtment
At your PC
*.extract the file, and run superoneclick.
*.then connect your phone to your pc,
if appears option at your phone just leave it, dont click anything.
*.then press Root, wait until it finish.
*.accept and install busybox also from superoneclick.

4. After your phone get rooted,
we need install Xrecovery, but before that your phone should have RootExplorer installed.
get that apps from blapkmarket.com or you can find it by googling.
install that aplication first.
Ok, your phone has been root and you have rootexplorer on your phone,
now download xrecovery, extract and copy to your phone sdcard.
use rootxplorer to copy the file (busybox, chargemon, charger, xrecovery.tar) to /system/bin.
just follow the manual howto.txt file.

5. Download the firmware,MiniCM7Pro_V21.zip.
and then rename it to update.zip,
copy to your phone sd card.

6.Installing the update
*. Reboot your phone,
*.if the white text "sony ericsson" appears, press "back" button several times, until you get into xrecovery menus.
*.then backup your phone in case you do a mistake, use the xrecovery for backup the old system.
*.after that choose update from sdcard on xrecovery menus, and select update.zip file.
*.wait until finish update, then wipe your data from xrecovery menus.
*.reboot again and then you will have a gingerbread at your phone, :D

      Hi, after finish update, wipe all data from xrecovery menus. then try to reboot again. or read the reference link above.

    I Have a rooted Xperia play r800i but after i rooted it my wifi doesn't work. the wifi is working only for you to on, off, and scan signal. but the problem is it can not obtain I.P address from the signal or server

      Hai, try to revert back the system using xrecovery.
      and make sure you wipe all data before restart.
      xrecovery will restore back your system if its fail.
      keep trying and don't panic :-).

      hai....im also have the same problem..my x10 mini stuck at the start up screen "Sony Ericson" ,i cant do anything at all, i have wait for 1day hope it can work properly after upgrade to 2.3....but still same..help me...i very love my cute x10mini....

      try to wipe your data, using xrecovery menus, don't panic and keep trying.
      if something goes wrong you still have the backup of your previous system so don't worry.

      Once the white sony ericsson logo pop up, press back button several times until you go into the xrecovery (alternative for mini pro is to slide out and in keyboard a few times until screen went into xrecovery).
      then choose your backup system.

      Hai, have you follow the instruction, after reboot and access the xrecovery menus, you can update the system by execute update and choose the update.zip. the file should be there if you already copy it to the sdcard. but don't forget to backup your current system before do an upgrade, just in case you missing something, you can revert back to the old system. :D. keep trying :)

      press and hold the power + middle button to restart ..... keep tapping on the sony ericsson ..... then select apply update from sd card .....

    After written sony ericsson, anroid logo comes in flashing lights. Is that all ok till here? Than the android logo stops flashing and freezes. And nothing happens than. I waited so long but still the same. How much should i wait for that logo screen to boot up?

    Setyadi i have got a problem. the battery discharges very quickly and sometimes the phone reboots itself. Today it rebooted three times. Once happened wile i was talking on the phone. Why my phone reboots? And what can i do to improve battery performance?

      Hai, try to wipe all data in recovery menus. and restart your phone.
      let me know if something happen. just keep the backup of the old system, in your SDcard, just in case.

    yes the battery is inbuild, but if you take a look carefully at the top of your battery, you can see the cable connector from the battery to the machine, use a thick stick to push the white connector, then you handphone will die. visit this blog http://batteriax10mini.myblog.it/, at the last picture, that what i mean. keep moving :D.
